BioColl® separation solutions contain polysucrose, a polymer with a molecular weight of approximately 400,000 Daltons.
With this hydrophilic polymer, aqueous solutions up to a density of about 1.1 g /ml can be produced. For optimal values with regard to pH and osmolality, BioColl® must be mixed with an acid, preferably amidotrizoic acid (ATS), and sodium hydroxide solution.
