Albumins are monomeric proteins found in body fluids and tissues. Human serum albumin (HSA) is the most abundant protein in human blood plasma with a molecular weight of about 66.5 kDa.

Composition of Humanen Serum Albumin
The human serum albumin lyophilized powder is> 98% pure according to agarose gel electrophoresis.
Human serum albumin 20% solution is made in physiological sodium chloride as a sterile solution.

Use and characteristics of HSA
Because of the free hydrophobic regions, albumins are used to solubilize lipids and to stabilize other proteins, such as growth factors, in tissue culture applications. Albumin has a low molecular weight, is easily soluble in water (50 mg / ml) and contains an excess of acidic amino acids.

  • Blocking agents in Western blots or ELISA applications
  • Protein standard
  • Serum replacement in serum-free, xeno-free cell culture
  • Medium component for cryopreservation and stem cell culture
  • Stabilizing protein for pharmaceutical and biotechnological products
  • Reduces non-specific binding in molecular biological assays
