Medium 199 was developed in 1950 by Joseph F. Morgan as a defined nutrient base for primary explants. The synthetic cell culture medium is therefore ideal for virological studies and vaccine production. Medium 199 is used for the in vitro cultivation of many mammalian cells (including embryonic chicken fibroblasts). Suitable supplementation makes the cell culture medium widely applicable for many species. The extended application spectrum of Medium 199 also extends to the production of biologics, drug screening and toxicological studies.
Medium 199 is available in various formulations. Find the right Medium 199 for you!
