FBS Gold ADD

FBS Gold ADD

For our FBS Gold ADD, natural fetal bovine serum (FBS) was mixed with bovine additives. By adding additional bovine additives, reduced batch variations are achieved compared to standard FBS. The added additives also promote the stability and vitality of your cells.

Properties

Constant cell growth batch after batch - Due to the addition of bovine additives
High reproducibility - Low batch variation
High safety - Virus/mycoplasma tested

Good to know

In order to create in vivo conditions for in vitro cell culture, serum is usually added to the cell culture medium. Serum serves the cells as a source of growth factors, lipids, hormones and minerals. FBS is particularly rich in growth factors and contains few antibodies that could interfere with cell cultivation. This unique composition makes FBS one of the most important supplements for cell proliferation in in vitro cell culture.

FBS is derived from bovine blood as a natural by-product of the meat and dairy industry. Different diets or health conditions of the animals have a major influence on the composition of the serum. For this reason, considerable batch variations can occur, which have a significant influence on the reproducibility of scientific experiments. The addition of specific bovine additives and a special pooling and filtration process have significantly reduced the batch-to-batch variation of our FBS Gold ADD. Once you have successfully tested a cell line with our FBS Gold ADD, no further batch tests are usually required. In addition, the added additives promote the stability and thus the vitality of your cells.
