Keratinocyte Medium
Our keratinocyte medium is a basal medium for the serum-free cultivation of human keratinocytes. The formulation of our keratinocyte medium is based on the medium MCDB 153, which selectively supports the growth of human keratinocytes and at the same time suppresses the overgrowth of fibroblasts. The basal medium must be supplemented with several additives before use. You can order the necessary supplements directly from us or you can add your individual supplements to our optimized basal medium.
Our supplement kit contains:
- Ethanolamine
- Epidermal growth factor (EGF)
- insulin
- Hydrocortisone
- Pituitary extract (BPE)
- Phosphoethanolamine

Fibroblasts are cells of the connective tissue that help to synthesize the extracellular matrix. For the in vitro cultivation of epidermal keratinocytes, a nutrient layer of fibroblasts can help. With our specific medium, you can achieve selective proliferation of keratinocytes without uncontrolled fibroblast growth.
