FBS Triple-Filtered
FBS Triple-Filtered is a sterile filtered natural fetal bovine serum. The filtering process involves triple sterile filtration, with the final step using a 0.1 µm membrane filter. Sterile filtration with a 0.1 µm membrane filter removes bacteria, molds and larger particles from the serum. In addition, the FBS Triple-Filtered is tested for viruses and mycoplasma to guarantee high purity and maximum safety from potential contamination.

Filtration is a gentle method of sterilizing liquids. The membrane filters used consist of microscopically small pores in which particles of a certain size are retained when the liquid is passed through. This allows bacteria and molds, as well as viruses and microplasmas, to be removed. In order to achieve the highest quality and purity, FBS Triple Filtered was cleaned twice using a 0.2 µm membrane filter and then sterilized using a 0.1 µm membrane filter.
