FBS Superior stabil®
FBS Superior stabil® is a standardised, natural FBS of consistently high quality. The serum is pre-tested and has batch-to-batch variations of only +/- 10%. It is characterised by stable cell growth and high reproducibility with every batch. You therefore only need to test our FBS Superior stabil® once and can save yourself further time-consuming batch tests. Due to the low batch-to-batch variation of the serum, the phenotype of your cells will not change significantly in any batch of our FBS Superior stabil®. FBS Superior stabil® is tested for viruses/mycoplasma and has a ultra low endotoxin content (< 1 EU/ml).
Properties
Standardized - Variation range of the batches is only 10%
Consistent quality - Serum test only required once
High safety - Tested for viruses and mycoplasma
Ultra low endotoxin content < 1 EU/ml
Good to know
In order to create in vivo conditions for in vitro cell culture, serum is often added to the cell culture medium. Serum serves as a source of growth factors, lipids, hormones and minerals for the cells. Fetal bovine serum (FBS) is particularly rich in growth factors and contains few antibodies that could interfere with cell cultivation. This unique composition makes FBS one of the most important supplements for cell proliferation in in vitro cell culture. FBS is naturally derived as a by-product of the meat and dairy industry, so the composition may vary from batch to batch. For meaningful experimental results, it is important that the phenotype of the cells does not change throughout the study.
Standardization & Quality
We test our FBS Superior stabil® batches in advance for the proliferation of different cell lines and only offer you selected batches with variations of +/- 10%. Our selection criterion: A maximum of three deviations in the number of cells, proliferation time, plating efficiency and cloning efficiency may vary by 10%. In this way, we guarantee consistent quality and you only have to test our product once. Due to the marginal deviations, the phenotype of your cells will not show any significant changes in another batch of our FBS Superior stabil®.
You are welcome to test our FBS Superior stabil® yourself!
Safety
The serum for our FBS Superior stabil® is collected under aseptic conditions. After serum collection, the clotted blood is centrifuged, pooled and frozen. The product is then tested for mycoplasma and various viruses. The serum is then packaged in PETG bottles. All steps are carried out under aseptic conditions (clean room workbench, ISO 5 clean room).
