MCDB 153 basal medium

MCDB 153 Basal Medium is a modification of HAM's F-12 medium, enriched with specific nutrients to promote serum-free growth of certain cell types. MCDB 153 Basal Medium allows serum-free growth of human keratinocytes, CHO cells and chicken embryo fibroblasts, among others.

The medium contains glucose, HEPES, sodium bicarbonate, sodium pyruvate and phenol red.
