Williams‘ Medium E
William's E Medium was developed by Williams and Gunn for the long-term cultivation of adult liver epithelial cells. It is a modified Minimum Essential Medium (MEM) with modified glucose and enriched amino acid content. William's E Medium is also suitable for the cultivation of primary hepatocytes of various species and human HepaRG cells. The cell culture medium contains unique ingredients such as iron, zinc and manganese, non-essential amino acids, the reducing agent glutathione and the lipid methyl linoleate.
Since William's E medium does not contain any proteins, growth factors or lipids, we recommend adding 10% fetal calf serum (FBS) to the medium in order to achieve guaranteed success in cell cultivation.
