Kanamycin
Kanamycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic with broad efficacy against contamination with gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Kanamycin binds the 30S subunit of the bacterial ribosome, thus inhibiting protein synthesis and inducing the death of the bacterium. The antibiotic is particularly suitable for preventing bacterial contamination in cell cultures. It has been tested on various cell lines and is suitable for use on primary cells.
