ES cells are undifferentiated cells that can develop into different types of specific cells. Differentiation takes place depending on their culture conditions. ES cells are therefore very sensitive and their undifferentiated state changes rapidly. The cultivation of ES cells is therefore often very difficult. Time-consuming serum tests must be carried out in advance in order to find a serum that has no influence on the differentiation state of the stem cells.
